Lean Startup
Operationalizes the Build-Measure-Learn loop: treat a new product/feature as a set of unproven hypotheses, test the riskiest assumption first via an MVP, measure with validated learning (not vanity metrics), and decide to persevere or pivot based on evidence.

Principios
- · LS1 — Identify leap-of-faith assumptions before building anything. Name the value hypothesis and growth hypothesis explicitly; test the riskiest one first.
- · LS2 — Enter the loop at Learn. Decide what you need to know before deciding what to build; the build is sized to the learning goal, not the other way around.
- · LS5 — Establish a real baseline before optimizing. You can't know if an experiment moved the needle without a measured starting point using real (not projected) data.
- · LS6 — Schedule pivot-or-persevere decisions explicitly. Don't let a failing hypothesis run indefinitely by never formally revisiting it; set a checkpoint in advance.
- · LS7 — A pivot is a hypothesis change, not a random direction change. State which specific assumption was invalidated and what new assumption the pivot tests.
Patrones
- · Name the scariest assumption. If the whole plan fell apart, which single assumption would have caused it? Test that one first, not the comfortable one.
- · The "what would we build to learn this in a week" test: if the MVP concept takes longer than a couple of weeks to build, ask what smaller version could still generate the core learning.
- · Vanity metric smell: any metric that trends up on a graph regardless of what the team does (cumulative totals, raw signups) is suspect — ask "what would make this go down, and would we notice?"
- · Cohort, not cumulative. Compare cohorts (this month's signups' week-1 retention vs. last month's) instead of cumulative totals to see real trend changes.
- · The pivot checkpoint. If 2-3 consecutive experiments fail to move the key metric despite genuine effort, that's the scheduled moment to ask pivot-or-persevere — not a reason to quietly run a fourth experiment hoping.

Checklist
- [ ] Leap-of-faith assumption (value + growth hypothesis) documented before build, for initiatives under genuine uncertainty. (LE1)
- [ ] MVP scope traces to the specific hypothesis it tests; extraneous features cut. (LE2)
- [ ] Success metric defined before launch, and it's actionable (cohort-based, causally attributable), not vanity. (LE3)
- [ ] Baseline measured with real data before optimization experiments begin. (LE4)
- [ ] Pivot-or-persevere checkpoint scheduled in advance for multi-experiment initiatives. (LE5)
- [ ] Any pivot documents the invalidated assumption and the new hypothesis. (LE6)
